First Tuesday of Lent

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD First Tuesday of Lent, March 12, 2019  WORD of the DAY  In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven…            (Matthew 6: 7-15)   How shall I live this Word? If every now and then we would understand more deeply the revolutionary impact of the ‘Our Father’, I think we would do as St. Francis who after a whole night in praying the Our Father, only managed to pronounce the first two words! … We know it by heart and it has entered our ears. The ‘Our Father’ often flows on us and we pass over it superficially.  We no longer reflect on the meaning and we consider it an already-acquired formula. Only those who have the courage to go in depth in dialogue with the Lord, realize that the protagonist must be the heart rather than the words. Return to being awed in front of the mystery, and to be amazed … I wonder...
