Saturday after Ash Wednesday

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Saturday after Ash Wednesday, March 9, 2019 WORD of the DAY Your people shall rebuild the ancient ruins; the foundations from ages past you shall raise up; “Repairer of the breach,” they shall call you, “Restorer of ruined dwellings.” (Isaiah 58: 12) How shall I live this Word? Rebuild. After damage, after a deadly and brutal event, disasters are taken in hand and freed from their negativity. The work of reconstruction, repair, restoration is not easy. Often you cannot immediately restore everything to their previous situation. Most of the time reconstructing involves imagining new, different forms. It is somehow regenerating. Every conversion action is not a simple retracing your steps, erasing what has been. It is also a matter of remixing the error into the regenerated novelty, preserving the previous vital principle and intuiting new forms of vitality and fidelity. It is about giving back to the past the opportunity to transform itself and to stop being an irremovable burden. It is also about acting together.
