33rd Saturday of Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Saturday November 24, 2018 Saints Andrew Dung-Lac and martyr Companions Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   He is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive”.   (Luke  20: 38)   How shall I live this Word? Yes, this brief statement by Jesus has such power as to bring down bigotry and representations that are lacking from every point of view, starting with that of art (“almost nephew to God” Dante Alighieri). The God whom Jesus came to show us, perfecting and fulfilling what the Patriarchs, Prophets, and Sages had said of Him, is He who, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, is one with the Risen Crucified Christ . “If Christ had not Risen – said St. Paul – our faith would be in vain” (1 Cor 15:17). Precisely the pages of the Gospel that testify to the truth of a person who died on the cross, who had been lying in the sepulcher and rose is an amazing truth which makes the Christian message a continuous and vibrant proclamation of life.
