TUESDAY OF HOLY WEEK

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD TUESDAY OF HOLY WEEK, March 27, 2018 WORD of the DAY   It is too little, he says, for you to be my servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and restore the survivors of Israel; I will make you a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth. (Isaiah 49: 6) How shall I live this Word? “Salvation to the ends of the earth” is a radiant goal that impels humanity to the most therapeutic sun that exists…that of salvation!  The prophecy of Isaiah is clear and consoling.  Jesus – of whom Isaiah prophesied – is the ‘Light of the nations’.   He Himself is Salvation for every person in this world, of whatever nation and ethnic group they belong. So great is God’s Love for us that Jesus, the only Son, God from God, lived the horror of every opprobrium in His passion and death.  This is what Holy Week, not only evokes, but celebrates, involving every faithful believer in the depths of their heart and their life.
