Yes, Lord!

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD FIRST MONDAY OF ADVENT St. Andrew Apostle November 30, 2020 WORD of the DAY  As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”   At once they left their nets and followed him.    (Mark 13: 33-37) How shall I live this Word?   Of course every call is a leap into the void, a trust beyond the ability to see and understand. Each call is a dive beyond the meaning of the words: ‘fishers of men’ but what does it mean for simple and practical men who have spent their lives fishing for fish? Each call is a going beyond logic and throwing oneself, without fear and without restraints, into the incomprehensible and unprecedented of God. Each call is also a profound dialogue between hearts that understand each other, between eyes that look at each other, between ears that listen, between God and humans.
