Friday 3 of Ordinary Time

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Friday, February 1, 2019 WORD of the DAY He said, “This is how it is with the kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how. Of its own accord the land yields fruit, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. And when the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once, for the harvest has come. (Mark: 4: 26-29) How shall I live this Word? The Kingdom is like a seed sown in our hearts. There is life inside the seed. That seed has in itself a tree, a dream, potential, and a dynamism as yet unexpressed but already operative, like every person on earth. We do not immediately see their essence but it is there. Often instead, we convince ourselves that only ugly things happen in the world and that all is going from bad to worse. The same things of yesterday are re-proposed and with a certain degradation: evil, wars, unemployment, homicides, earthquakes, hatred, poverty, injustice, etc....
