Second Sunday of Ordinary Time

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Second Sunday of Ordinary Time 19 January 2020 WORD of the DAY The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. He is the one of whom I said, ‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’ (John 1: 29-30) How shall I live this Word? It is not always easy to recognize the Lord who passes by us as John does: it is He, He is the Lamb of God, He is the Anointed, He is the Chosen One! John recognized Him at first glance because he was waiting for Him with all his heart. He desired His coming; he was sure He would arrive. We perhaps do not have so much desire nor so much faith and we try to recognize Him even if every day we meet Him in the poor who asks for alms on the church door, in the child who wants attention and affection, in the young person who seeks confirmation and direction, in the elderly person who wants to overcome loneliness and sadness...
