29th Wednesday in Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Wednesday October 24, 2018 Twenty-ninth Week of Ordinary Time  WORD of the DAY   And the Lord replied, “Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the master will put in charge of his servants to distribute [the] food allowance at the proper time?  Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds him doing so.  Truly, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property. (Luke 12: 39-48)   How shall I live this Word? It is up to the owner to stay alert to prevent the thief’s theft. As servants, it is up to us to be awake and ready to await the Beloved who returns to his possessions after the wedding when we least expect it. A single mandate, a great responsibility: to watch over our brothers and sisters and to work for the will of God, with the activity of our works. The evil that dwells in me rebels before the Word of God, and does not want to be subjected to Him, the “custodian” and “administrator” is downgraded to “servant”. God becomes a rival, and every other human being an enemy...
