Fourth Friday of Lent

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Fourth Friday of Lent, March 16, 2018 WORD of the DAY   Jesus cried out in the temple area as he was teaching and said, “You know me and also know where I am from. Yet I did not come on my own, but the one who sent me, whom you do not know, is true.  I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me (John 7: 28-29)   How shall I live this Word? Once again, Jesus appears as a sign of contradiction: some recognize Him as Messiah; there are those who call Him a liar, a cheater. And He, patient and merciful, takes advantage of the popular and traditional feast of the Tents in which God was thanked for the goods received, to help his contemporaries to humbly open themselves to His mystery: sent by the Father for the salvation of all. The consequence is negative. His opponents read His words as irony, insult, blasphemy and want to take arrest Him. But, in vain. His “hour” has not yet come.
