FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Monday, January 28, 2019 Week 3 of Ordinary Time WORD of the DAY Amen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness but is guilty of an everlasting sin. (Mark: 3: 28-29) How shall I live this Word? Jesus, the Holy One, the Lamb without blemish who heals those who turn to Him, is accused of being possessed by demons, by Beelzebub. “He casts out devils by the prince of demons”, the scribes say. The Teacher responds with an indisputable statement: How can satan cast out satan? A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand”. But what is the sin against the Holy Spirit? Those who speak like the scribes become incapable of receiving forgiveness. A Biblist comments, “Can one who closes his eyes see? He cannot. Can one who has his mouth shut eat? He cannot.
