MARY MOTHER OF GOD

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD MARY MOST HOLY MOTHER OF GOD JANUARY 1, 2021 WORD of the DAY   “Let us go, then, to Bethlehem to see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.” So they went in haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child. All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds. And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them. When eight days were completed for his circumcision,  he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.                  (Luke 2: 16-21) How shall I live this Word?   Mary, celebrated today as “Mother of God”, teaches us to be amazed at the wonders that God does, but even more, the wonder that God is for our life. FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD 31st Thursday of Ordinary Time November 5, 2020 WORD of the DAY The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to him, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So to them he addressed this parable. “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. “Or what woman having ten coins and losing one would not light a lamp and sweep the house, searching carefully until she finds it?
