First Tuesday of Ordinary Time

FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Tuesday January 15, 2019 Week 1 of Ordinary Time WORD of the DAY In “subjecting” all things [to him], he left nothing not “subject to him”. (Hebrews 2: 8) How shall I live this Word? The Letter to the Hebrews continues today by highlighting the submission of all creation and of all of history to Christ. The incarnation takes the Son from eternity, abases Him, and immerses Him in the limitations of being a creature according to a movement that allows Him to enter the world and thus into a precise time and place. This movement makes eternity invade creation and thus bring it back to its originality. Submission here is to be understood in its authentic meaning and relationship with its origin. Creation that suffers and groans as it awaits redemption and adoption as children sees in Christ the end of its suffering. Lord, help us to avoid making creation suffer uselessly. It’s redemption is with ours and how we commit ourselves to be the prolongation of salvation in our times so that the Gospel may reach every person, that attention may be paid to the environment, love for the plants and...
