Fourth Sunday of Lent

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Fourth Sunday of Lent, March 11, 2018 WORD of the DAY  For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.  Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.  (John 3: 16-18)   How shall I live this Word? The Word of God is a declaration of the Father’s tenderness. The Face of the Abba is caressed by this Gospel of John that outlines a reality of love that enchants and moves us. The recovery of the fullness of life, which is eternal life, is the only concern of the Father. This reading surpasses all the others because, granting the need for salvation, it dominates, for now, that of justice. “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world”.
