Seventh Wednesday in Ordinary Time

  FRIENDS and SERVANTS of the WORD Wednesday  May 23, 2018 Week 7 of Ordinary Time WORD of the DAY    Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we shall go into such and such a town, spend a year there doing business, and make a profit,” you have no idea what your life will be like tomorrow.   You are a puff of smoke that appears briefly and then disappears.   Instead you should say, “If the Lord wills it,  we shall live to do this or that.”  But now you are boasting in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.   So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, it is a sin”.  (James 4:  14-16) How shall I live this Word?   Time is a gift from God and what will happen tomorrow is not under our control; a believer must therefore live every moment as though in the presence of God, because in the spiritual life, when it is a question of doing good, we cannot postpone it until after we have done what we had to do, when we have completed our own business.
