WORD of the DAY

If you consider that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who acts in righteousness is begotten by him. See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
( 1 John 2: 29/3:1)

How shall I live this Word?
To work justice is therefore the first commitment of men and women who want to live fully their humanity and that of the Son of God who as such (especially if they are baptized) are called to live the immense gift of having been created in the ‘image and likeness of God’ (Genesis 1)
It is therefore evident that, if God is justice par excellence, I cannot put on a false mask to seem right, upright, good, and then spend my days in the continuous search for my ‘self-interest’. There is nothing wrong, if I look for what enriches me. It is important, however, that I seek enrichment on roads that are cleansed of all falsehood and deception
Give me, oh Lord, a righteous conscience, which first of all practices justice: the true one which is always the daughter of truth, and the servant of charity. I cannot in the name of justice and strangle the rights of my neighbor so that only my own, perhaps presumed rights, triumph.
Give me O Lord a ‘dignified and clear conscience’ so that others may see that I am Your follower and are drawn to Your path which is the light of justice and love.

The Voice of St. Augustine

If justice is not respected, Nations are only huge gangs of thieves.
