EASTER TUESDAY 2
WORD of the DAY
Jesus said to Nicodemus: “You must be born from above. The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus answered and said to him, ‘How can this happen?’ Jesus answered and said to him, “You are the teacher of Israel and you do not understand this? Amen, amen, I say to you, we speak of what we know and we testify to what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony.” (John 3: 7-15)
How shall I live this Word?
Nicodemus is a Teacher, he knows the Scriptures. He has studied, yet he lacks the essential: understanding what comes from above. It is not enough to know, it is necessary to believe, trust, take sides, adhere, give oneself. The Spirit helps us, pushes us towards the Word. If life has not completely deafened our interiority, we will see the Holy Spirit infiltrate every corner of our life to break through our resistances. The road is meditation on the gift of God in Jesus, that crucified being who reveals to us what the true face of God is and opens our hearts to faith, to the discovery of the face of the Most High. Let the Spirit work who comes unexpectedly, intervenes in our life, changes our hearts. Always.
Teacher, you invite us to welcome Your word. We do not know how it can happen but, like Nicodemus, we trust You.
